Who we are
Aspirational Editech ("we", "us") is an educational-services company registered in India with operating offices in Bengaluru and London. We design and deliver short-term UK boarding-school immersion programmes for students aged 13–18.
For the purposes of the UK GDPR and the Indian Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, Aspirational Editech is the data controller for personal data collected through this website, our enquiry forms, and our programmes.
What we collect
We collect only what we need to run a safe, well-organised programme and to respond to your enquiries.
From parents and students
- Name, email, phone, postal address and the city in which you live
- Student's age and date of birth, school, and academic stage
- Passport details, visa documents and emergency contacts (when a place is confirmed)
- Dietary requirements, allergies, medical conditions and any reasonable adjustments
- Payment information processed through a regulated payment provider; we do not store card numbers
- Photographs and videos taken during the programme, used with documented consent
From your visit to this website
- Pages viewed and basic device information (browser, operating system, approximate location at city level)
- A small number of essential and analytics cookies — see our cookies section
How we use your data
We use personal data for the following purposes:
- To respond to enquiries — from initial conversations through to confirmation of a place.
- To run a safe programme — sharing necessary details (e.g. medical, dietary) with the UK host school, chaperones, insurer, and approved suppliers.
- To meet legal obligations — including the UK visa process, safeguarding, tax and audit requirements.
- To improve our services — analysing aggregated, anonymous data to make our programmes better.
- To stay in touch — with your consent, sending you our newsletter or relevant programme updates.
Our lawful basis
Under the UK GDPR, the lawful bases on which we rely are:
- Contract — to enrol a student and deliver a programme.
- Legal obligation — for safeguarding, visa, tax and audit.
- Consent — for marketing communications and use of photographs.
- Legitimate interests — for service improvement, fraud prevention and security — balanced carefully against your rights.
You may withdraw consent at any time by writing to privacy@aspiedtech.com.
Who we share it with
We do not sell personal data. We share it only with:
- The UK partner school hosting your child's programme
- Our travel partners, insurer and visa counsel, strictly as needed
- Payment processors regulated under PCI-DSS
- Our IT and analytics suppliers, under contractual data-processing terms
- Public authorities where required by law (for example, immigration or safeguarding referrals)
Where data is transferred outside India or the UK, we use Standard Contractual Clauses and equivalent safeguards to maintain a comparable level of protection.
How long we keep it
We retain personal data only for as long as it is needed.
- Enquiry data: 24 months from last contact, then deleted.
- Programme records: 7 years after the programme ends, in line with safeguarding and audit requirements.
- Financial records: 7 years, as required by Indian and UK tax law.
- Photographs and videos: 5 years, unless you ask us to remove them sooner.
Your rights
You have the right to:
- Access a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Rectify data that is inaccurate or incomplete.
- Erase data where there is no longer a lawful basis to keep it.
- Restrict or object to certain types of processing.
- Withdraw consent at any time, for processing that depends on consent.
- Portability — receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
- Complain to the relevant supervisory authority — the Information Commissioner's Office (UK) or the Data Protection Board of India.
To exercise any right, write to privacy@aspiedtech.com. We respond within 30 days.
Cookies
We use a small number of cookies on this site:
- Essential cookies for navigation and form submission — these cannot be switched off.
- Analytics cookies to understand how the site is used, in aggregate. These are set only with your consent.
You can clear or block cookies through your browser settings at any time.
Security
We treat the security of your data seriously. See our Data Security & GDPR page for the technical and organisational measures we have in place.
Children’s data
Many of our programme participants are under 18. We process their data only with parent or guardian consent, and we apply additional safeguards to all data concerning students. We do not target marketing to children and we do not knowingly process the data of a child under 13.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as our services, legal obligations or partner network change. Material changes will be communicated by email or a banner on this page. The "last updated" date at the top of the page always reflects the current version.
